Lebong.PortalBermano.com – The Lebong Regency Government (Pemkab) is holding a preparatory meeting for the sixth Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangel (IMT-GT) meeting which will be held from 7 to 9 August 2023 in Ipoh, Malaysia.

The event was directly led by Lebong Regional Secretary, Mustarani Abidin accompanied by Head of Bappeda Lebong Zulhendri, Head of Environment Agency, Indera Gunawan, Head of PUPR-P Lebong Office, Joni Prawinata, Head of Protocol and Communications Head of Regional Secretariat, Fendi and other regional officials.

Head of Bappeda Lebong Regency, Zulhendri said, only Lebong Regency in Bengkulu Province, was invited. Meanwhile, in Indonesia there are only 9 regions, namely Jambi, Banda Aceh, Batam, Dumai, Lebong, Medan, Muntok, Pekan Baru and West Bangka.

“The Islamic Deploment Bank (IDB) invited Lebong from nine regions to attend the IMT-GT meeting in Malaysia,” said Zul, his nickname on the sidelines of the meeting, Thursday (3/8).

He said these nine regions are members of the Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangel (IMT-GT) Green Cities Mayor Council (GCMC).

So far, Lebong has been in business for a long time but has been in a vacuum. In fact, the Lebong area has met the requirements to become a member. This is because almost 70 percent of the Lebong area has forest status. The remaining 30 percent is the area of ​​other allotment areas.

“Actually, this forum has been around for a long time. However, so far this forum has not been taken care of, so it has been a vacuum. Now, we are building again,” he explained.

Not only that, Zul said, this meeting will be attended by the Regent of Lebong, Kopli Ansori, DLH, Bappeda, Health Office, BKD, PUPR-P Service, DMP-PTSP, and BKPSDM.

“Departure August 5 to August 9 in Ipoh Malaysia,” he added.

He continued to explain, this meeting was to discuss various cooperation opportunities, including Transportation, Energy, Solid Waste Management, Biodiversity, Circular Economy, Tourism and Education for sustainable development, and Carbon Literacy.

In addition, the purpose of this visit itself is to provide assistance to the District related to the IMT-GT Green District Project and provide technical assistance proposed by Danish Energy Efficiency Partners (DEEP).

By implementing environmentally friendly projects and programs, as well as ensuring the consistency of the IMT-GT project with the identified sector strategy.

“After completion, there will be a meeting with the Minister on September 9 in Batam,” said Zulhendi.
